How Does It Work
Before School Starts Workshops Include
Activities designed to spark dialogue about the skills needed to successfully adjust to a new environment with new demands, and lots of other changes. Throughout these games, the girls are encouraged to share personal thoughts and feelings.
After School Starts Workshops Include
Group discussions are an integral part of our workshops. We want to find out how the girls are adapting. Girls will have an opportunity to share their experiences, voice their concerns and ask questions. It’s important for them to recognize that others are also thinking and feeling the same way – that they are not alone.
Mentors from elementary and middle school who have gone through these transitions will not only share stories about their challenges and triumphs, but will also answer questions and guide the girls. This helps the girls realize that they will get through this in one piece.
